Trailer crushes four to death in Abuja
Four persons were crushed to death and many injured in Nyanya area of Abuja on Tuesday evening when a trailer conveying bags of fertilizer lost control due to break failure and rammed nto a Honda accord car crushing the occupants beyond recognition.
An eye witness said that the problem started from Kugbo when the trailer was descending the hill along Abuja – Keffi Road at high speed to Nyanya Junction.
Unable to stop, the vehicle which was headed towards Keffi hit smaller cars in front of it till it squeezed the Honda Accord car to a metal pillar where it eventually came to a stop.
The crash dismembered the bodies of the four occupants while survivors from the other affected cars were also left with various degrees of injuries
Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps and sympathisers who rushed to the scene to rescue surviving victims couldn’t find it difficult to pull out mangled bodies from the badly crushed car.
The bodies and the crushed car too could not be recognized due to the magnitude of the crash.
