THE TRADITIONAL MEDICINE BOARD UNDER LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH, HAS ORGANISED 2021 AFRICAN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE DAY
The Lagos state has organised African Traditional medicine day, 2021, with the theme: Traditional medicine-Research and development.
The traditional medicine board is a well recognised arm under the ministry of health.
Speaking at the event, the honourable commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi said, “the Lagos state ministry of health is so passionate about traditional medicine and the body is well regulated, it could meet up with the global traditional practices”.
Prof. Akin Abayomi charged the traditionalist to be humane in their dealings by putting lives of Lagosians first in their activities because they are more closer to the grassroots.
The Lagos state commissioner for health prof. Akin Abayomi , while addressing the organisers of the events, make emphasis on the imminent of traditional medicine in the society and how vital and efficient it has become over the years from inception.
Prof. Akin Abayomi urged, the herb specialist to endeavour to guide their forest and prevent deforestation menace, he made note on forest disappearance, alerting them to be fully protective of their ancestral herb source.
He, however urged the traditional medicines producers to identity and handover anyone whose activities is against its body and government laid down principles of practice for proper prosecution to the image of safe the organisation.
