Security Adviser, Ribadu, vows to kick new terrorists group, Lakarawa, out of Nigeria

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has assured that the administration of President Bola Tinubu would soon kick out the emerging terrorists group, Lukarawa, out of Nigeria.

“The Lukarawas are making a mistake. They will be kicked out. They came at a wrong time. Boko Haram has run out of Nigeria. They are now in Chad. Hundreds of bandits are killed everyday,” Ribadu said.

The NSA gave the assurance on Wednesday while representing President Tinubu at the opening ceremony of the ongoing 2024 Comptroller-General of Customs Conference in Abuja.

He who showered encomiums on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Christopher Musa for degrading terrorists and criminalities in the country, expressed optimism that with the Nigeria military’s might and unalloyed commitment to talking the country’s insecurity challenges, the new terrorists group would totally be sent packing out of the country.

“We will chase the so-called Lukarawa out of our country. We’ll put critics to shame and shut their mouths in no time. Boko Haram, which has been ravaging our country, is now on the run. Its members are now fleeing to other neighbouring countries because Nigeria is no longer conducive for their operations,” he said.

While passing President Tinubu’s vote of confidence in the CDS, Ribadu noted: “For the first time, the security agencies are working as a team. We are working as a team. For the first time, there is cooperation within the security agencies and we are achieving results. A lot of progress has been made,” the NSA said.

“We are proud of you,” Ribadu stressed.

Earlier in his remarks, the CDS assured of the Nigerian Armed Forces’ determination to win the war against terrorists, bandits and sundry criminalities across the country.

Ribadu who also expressed optimism that Nigerians would soon overcome the current economic hardship, said that there were signs that things had started getting better with the economy.

He cited increased crude oil production in the Niger Delta and the fiscal reforms by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as parts of economic improvement.

“Crude oil production has hit 1.8 million bpd and the Central Bank has been sanitized. No one is taking a dime from the CBN. When we promised that we’ll fix this country, we will do so because President Tinubu has never been a failure,” he stressed.

In the text of the president’s speech, which he delivered, the NSA emphasized that President Tinubu had set out with a unwavering vision to strengthen Nigeria’s economic base and deliver positive growth and development for the benefit of all, promising that 18 months later, the vision remains unchanged.
