Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Aromolaran, is dead

The Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, is dead.

He died at 86.

The death of the first class monarch of Osun was announced in a statement signed by the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital.

D’GALLERYTV has gathered that before the monarch’s demise, anxiety had trailed his health as he was said to be indisposed.

In a tribute on the monarch, Fasuyi wrote: “An Era Comes To An Abrupt End! A Monumental History Closes!

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed deep sorrow over the monarch’s passage via his X account on Thursday.

In a statement, Atiku described him as more than just a father-in-law but a symbol of courage, boldness and discipline emblem of the Ijesha people.

Oba Aromolaran ascended the throne on February 20, 1982 and spent 42 years on the throne.
