Okpebholo, Idahosa sworn in as Edo governor, deputy

The newly elected Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, have been sworn in.

The Chief Justice of the state, Daniel Okungbowa, who swore them in on Tuesday at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium,
Benin, administered the oath to the effect.

They both pledged to uphold the constitution, work within its dictates, and ensure the well-being of the people of the state.

Supporters of the party at the stadium jubilated throughout the oath-taking ceremony.

The development marks the beginning of a new administration in the state and exit of former Governor Obaseki’s administration.
