Nigeria visa is set to go digital and would be ready in 48 hours.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing state house correspondents at the end of the two-day Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja, said that the Ministry of Interior’s memo on the review of the new visa regime had been approved.
D’Gallery gathered that the Federal Executive Council, presided by President Bola Tinubu had approved memos from the ministries of Aviation, Communications, Power, Federal Capital Territory, and Works.
Idris said the new visa regime became imperative to address the lacuna and challenges faced by citizens and foreign investors coming or going out of Nigeria.
According to the minister, the new visa process would now be absolutely online, adding that background security checks of applicants would be done within 48 hours and would commence in the next four weeks.
