Killers of retired Army General in Abuja arrested

Five armed robbery suspects who killed a retired Brigadier General in Abuja while robbing him in his home in Abuja have been arrested and confessed to the crime.

The deceased, Uwen Harold, N/5575, 15th Regular course, lived at No.9, Sanga Street Sunshine Homes by Kabusa Junction, Lokogoma, Abuja. The suspects were arrested in Apo area of Abuja.

They confessed that when they got to the victim’s house, they discovered that he had a gun and was trying to fix the magazine. In the process, one of them stabbed him.

According to them, they killed him to prevent him from attacking them.

They also confessed that they made away with his phones, a laptop and an undisclosed amount of money.

The police confirmed the report and said that the suspects were arrested on Sunday at Kabusa and Pigbakasa-Apo in FCT.

The operation was led by the operatives of Utako Division headed by one CSP Victor O Godfrey who stormed the locations and arrested the four suspects.

They also took away the victim’s rifle but gave it to one Alhaji, while they have sold the phones and the laptop.

The suspects, who are all males, include Ibrahim Rabiu, 33 years old from Dala Local Government Area of Kano State but resident at Rasha Apo Roundabout; Nafiu Jamil, 33 years old from Tofa LGA of Kano State, but resident at Apo Pantekar; Aliyu Abdullahi, 47 years old from Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State but resident at Apo Roundabout Abuja and Mohammed Nuhu, 28 years old from Kumbotso LGA of Kano State but resident at Apo primary school area.
