FCT Police nab armed robbery suspect in Abuja, recover exhibits
The FCT Police Command on Sunday nabbed an armed robbery suspect, who allegedly robbed a car owner of his Toyota Corolla car at gun point on May 2nd along Kuje Airport Road in Abuja.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh, who disclosed this on Sunday said the police got information that the stolen car was sighted in Jabia area of Abuja.
While using digital devices, they swung into action and located the car at Ifego Guest Inn, Jani and effected the arrest of the suspect.
The PPRO stated: “The operatives of the FCT Police Command on 17th August, 2024, at about 12:00 p.m., tracked a vehicle in a swift response to a Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number ABC 258 LD, reportedly snatched at gunpoint on 2nd May, 2024, along Kuje-Airport road, and the same vehicle being sighted.:
“With the aid of digital reconstruction intelligence, the operatives of the command tracked the vehicle to one Ifego Guest Inn at Jabi, in the possession of one Michael Uke,” she added.
“The suspect had replaced the registration number on the vehicle with another, reading: AGD 146 JP.”
Some items, including a POS machine; one knife; glass dissolving chemicals; one military jungle hat and the original registration number of the vehicle which was snatched were found in possession of the suspect.
“While the investigation is still ongoing, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, reiterates the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents of the FCT. He further encourages residents of the FCT to report any suspicious activities to the police,” the PPRO stated.
