In the wake of the ongoing emirship tussle in Kano, following the reinstatement of Lamido Sanusi, the state government has called for President Bola Tinubu’s intervention.
The Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo, made the call on Monday in a chat with newsmen.
He said Tinubu’s intervention would save the controversy from degenerating into chaos.
Gwarzo said that the state is renowned for its peace and stability, in spite of its political complexities.
The deputy governor urged the president to take necessary steps to prevent the situation from escalating.
According to him, the state government followed due process in the reinstatement of Emir Lamido Sanusi.
The government acknowledged the recent amendments to the Kano State Emirates Law and the ongoing legal challenges.
