Eid-el-Maulud: First Lady urges love, tolerance

As Muslims in Nigeria celebrate Eid Maulud marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),

First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to reflect on Prophet Muhammad’s teachings of love, kindness and tolerance to be able to live in harmony and peace.

Mrs Tinubu who made the call in her Maulud Nabiyy greeting in Abuja on Monday, to mark the celebration of the birth of Muhammad, emphasised the importance of embracing the values of peace, compassion and unity exemplified by the prophet.

The First Lady enjoined Nigerians to use the occasion to entrench stronger communities and a more harmonious society, where love and kindness thrive.

Mrs Tinubu who also wished Muslims a joyous and peaceful celebration, prayed that the blessings of the day bring happiness to homes and the country at large.

“I felicitate with the Muslim ummah across our great nation as we celebrate this year’s Maulud Nabiyy, the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),” she said.

“This occasion reminds us of the values of peace, compassion and unity that the Prophet exemplified throughout his life,” she added.

“Let us use this opportunity to reflect on his teachings of love, kindness and tolerance, which will help us build stronger communities and a more harmonious society.

“May the blessings of this day bring joy and peace to our homes and our country. Maulud Nabiyy Mubarak,” the First Lady said.
