As many Nigerians are are annoyingly reacting to the gruesome killing of Samuel Deborah. Many have not healed from the sight of it and it seems another jab thrown from an Imam has escalated the pain, aggravating the divides along religious and and ethnic lines.
The Imam of National Mosque, Ibrahim Maqari has a different reaction to the news of the killing of Deborah Samuel by justifying the very act of barbaric and unlawful killing.
The victim of the stone age killing was a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Wamako, Sokoto State.
Maqari made it known on his social media page according to “people gazette” that Deborah was killed because she Crossed the Islamic red line.
The Imam advised that who cares to listen should be cautious in ways they deal with Muslims. His words: “we the Muslims have some redlines beyond which MUST NOT be crossed”
He reiterated that the dignity of the Prophet is at the forefront. Hence, Prophet Muhammad is one of the red lines. He then added that if therefore Muslims’ grievances were not appropriately looked into, then Muslims should not be excoriated for addressing their grievances themselves.
