The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has insisted that the ongoing nationwide strike would continue despite the agreement reached with the Federal Government during Monday’s meeting to continue negotiations for new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
In a post on X, the workers Union stated on Tuesday that the industrial action, on Monday, which had significantly crippled the nation’s economy, would continue until the union’s organs meet to review all resolutions from Monday’s discussions.
“Until we hear from our organs at our meeting scheduled for today, June 4, we are still on strike,” the post read.
Following a six-hour meeting with organized labour leaders in Abuja, the Federal Government reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to increasing the minimum wage from N60,000.
