Bobrisky denies bribing EFCC…says, “I served my jail term”

Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, fondly called Bobrisky has denied claims that he paid some officers of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) a sum of N15m to drop the money laundering charges against him.

On Tuesday, a social media influencer, Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan (VDM) had played a phone voice recording which he attributed to Bobrisky. In the recording, Bobrisky made some indicting statement, one of which was that he didn’t serve the three months jail term slammed on him by the court.

But in his reaction on Wednesday morning, on Instagram post, Bobrisky said the viral audio recording was manipulated to discredit him.

According to him, he served his jail term and came out free. He insisted that the allegation was fake, a big lie and should be discarded.

He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”

However, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had ordered an immediate investigation into the matter.
