The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has narrated how he was duped by a fake military officer.
In a recent post, the highly anointed and revered cleric revealed how his passion for the military made him fall for the fraudster who deceived him to part with money to get engaged as a spiritual leader of a fake paramilitary group.
According to him, he shared the experience to serve as a lesson to Nigerians not to fall victims to fraudsters due to gullibility.
Daddy G.O, as he is fondly called, recounted how a man who pretended to represent a paramilitary group, had approached him with a proposal to become their spiritual leader.
He noted that despite his usual practice of seeking God’s guidance in every undertaking, he fell for the impostor’s request for funding which he graciously provided, only to discover later that the man was a fraudster.
“My desire to be part of a paramilitary group made me run ahead of God, but God had already planned for Redemption City to have its own corps of chaplains and a local Police post.”
He stressed that trying to outrun God could lead to devastating consequences, especially loss of precious things.
While citing Ecclesiastes 3:11, Adeboye stressed the importance of trusting in God’s timing.
“God makes everything beautiful in His time.”
He therefore enjoined Christians not to pursue worldly things as they are vanities capable of robbing them of greater blessings from God.
“Follow God’s timing. Don’t try to outrun Him,” Daddy Go stressed.
He reassured that God delighted in the well being and prosperity of mankind as stated in Psalm 35:27 and 3 John 1:2, and will make them prosper in His own time.
