The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has elevated its pragmatic National Public Relations Officer (PRO) Abdullahi Maiwada, to the enviable rank of Assistant Comptroller of Customs.
The promotion saw over 4,000 senior officers ascend to other ranks with a view to reinforcing the Service’s commitment to appreciation of talent, excellence and achievements.
The promotion was announced on December 20 during the 61st regular meeting of the NCS Board, chaired by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun.
Other remarkable promotions by the Service included Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) and eight Assistant Comptrollers General (ACGs).
For Maiwada, this milestone is a testament to his years of professionalism, talent, dedication, innovation, excellence and extraordinary service.
In the various challenging positions that he had occupied before this new promotion, Maiwada had showcased his PR and communications skills as the PRO of the Service so much that the innovations he brought to the PR Unit since he came on board continues to position the Nigeria Customs at a very high pedestal in the public domain, making it to be conversant with the Service’s remarkable achievements and impacts in the nation’s economic development.
Not only his professionalism, Maiwada’s impressive academic portfolios also speak for him. He holds degrees in Environmental Sciences from Bayero University, Kano, and Communication degrees from Crescent University, Abeokuta.
His academic achievements have also culminated in a PhD in Media Arts from the University of Abuja, making him a shining star in the world of public relations and communication.
