The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General, Olufemi Oluyede, has promised to orchestrate a tough military action against criminals.
He, therefore, warned criminal elements to pack out of the country, insisting that the Nigerian Army under his leadership, was ready to tackle them with a military might in full swing.
The COAS stated this while addressing the troops of the 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna when he paid a maiden operational visit to them on Wednesday.
He disclosed that as at December 10, he had signed his command philosophy, hinged on leadership, sound administration and professionalism.
He stressed that in the philosophy, he made it clear that soldiers’ welfare would be his priority in every area which, he assured, would motivate them to demonstrate commitment to ridding the country of criminals.
“I will try as much as possible to enhance their welfare in terms of accommodation, kitting and training so that they can be better soldiers,” Oluyede said.
Oluyede who urged the soldiers to be resilient, disclosed that the Army would employ new strategies to guarantee successes on the field by approaching operations from different perspectives.
The COAS has inaugurated the remodeled Stallion Officers’ Mess at the division’s headquarters.
He also inaugurated two blocks of a 30 family’s accommodation at the Kotoko Barracks, Ribadu Cantonment.
