EndBadGovernance protests intended to topple Tinubu’s administration -Council of State

The recent #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests which started on August 1 and ended on August 10 was aimed at a change of regime.

The Council of State stated this during its meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosted the inaugural meeting since the commencement of his administration.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said that the Council endorsed President Tinubu’s administration, because it meant well for the nation, following its people-oriented policies so far that had put the economy on a path of progress and prosperity for the nation to end the current hardship.

The Kwara State Governor and Nigeria Governors’ Forum Chairman Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq who addressed State House correspondents after the meeting, announced the Council’s unanimous endorsement of President Tinubu’s leadership. He expressed satisfaction with the President’s governance of the nation.

This followed presentations by six ministers and the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu which also received commendations by the Council.

The Council which comprises former presidents and heads of state, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, serving and retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, and the 36 state governors, however, advised the president to take significant policy decisions to better the lot of the nation’s economy and the citizenry.

Governor Abdulrazaq also expressed the Council’s satisfaction with President Tinubu’s governance, following the impressived presentations by ministers on the economy’s progress.

While former presidents, Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan, attended the meeting live, former military rulers, Yakubu Gowon, and Abdulsalami Abubakar, participated virtually.

But former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and former military president, Ibrahim Babangida without any reason stated.
