The Ooni of Ife, Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi,CFR, Ojaja II, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Cuba, Senator Bamigbetan Baju, on the occasion of his 70th birthday anniversary.
The monarch hailed the former envoy as a distinguished descendant of Oduduwa and Nigerian patriot par excellence,
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by his Director of Media & Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare.
In his congratulatory message, the Ooni described Senator Bamigbetan as an inspiration to the Nigerian society wherein his unquantifiable contributions to the pursuit of justice and the legislative framework of Nigeria can not be forgotten in the annals of our history.
According to the African foremost monarch, Senator Bamigbetan Baju had exemplified the values of leadership, integrity and selflessness through the policies and the legacy that he has championed over the years.
He added that celebrating the life of Senator Bamigbetan underscored the significance of his achievements and his positive impacts on the countless lives that had passed through him.
“Senator Bamigbetan is an elder with a beacon of cultural heritage, the pride and admiration of the sons and daughters of Oduduwa worldwide-,” the Ooni said.
The Ooni also used the opportunity to pray for good health, long life, abundant of joy and the strength to continue exemplary service to humanity for the distinguished senator.
Before his appointment as an ambassador by former President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Bamigbetan had been governor of Lions Club International District 404b by which he served the needy immensely and had earlier served as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of the then Social Democratic Party(SDP), hailing him to have truly paid his dues as a patriot.
