Modibbo Adama University appoints Prof Ja’afaru as VC
In a strategic move to propel the institution to greater heights, the Governing Council of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has appointed Prof Ja’afaru as Acting Vice-Chancellor. The appointment is with immediate effect.
This development follows the conclusion of the former Vice-Chancellor’s tenure in June 2024. Prof Ja’afaru’s appointment is poised to usher in a new era of academic excellence and innovation at the university.
According to a statement issued by Dr. Akin-Thomas Babajide, a member of the Governing Council, the appointment of an Acting Vice-Chancellor was deemed necessary to ensure the smooth continuation of the university’s administrative activities until a permanent Vice-Chancellor is appointed. The Council is responsible for selecting a qualified individual for this significant role when the time comes.
“Under the leadership and experience of H.E. Mahmoud Shinkafi, the former Governor of Zamfara State, and other qualified members of the Council appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the university is expected to experience a new era of progress and innovation”, he said.
