Olu Jacobs continues to inspire audiences with talent, dedication, says Actors Guild of Nigeria…wife says he’s alive
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has lauded the professionalism, dedication and acumen of Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs, noting that the entertainment legend continues to inspire his audiences with his remarkable talent and dedication.
The Guild stated this on Sunday in a statement by its spokesman, Monlisa Chinda, while debunking the rumour of Jacobs’ death which went viral on social media at the weekend.
It also confirmed his existence and enjoined everyone to ignore the unfounded rumour.
“In a world where legends are born on the silver screen, Olu Jacobs stands tall as one of Nollywood’s most revered actors. Contrary to recent rumours, the veteran actor is very much alive and continues to inspire audiences with his remarkable talent and dedication,” the statement said.
“As the entertainment industry breathes a collective sigh of relief, let us celebrate Olu Jacobs—a living legend whose talent and resilience continue to inspire generations of actors and fans alike,” the AGN said further.
His wife, Joke Sylva, has debunked the rumour of his death. According to Joke who also shares the same profession with her husband as a veteran actress, the Nollywood maestro is not only alive but also hail and hearty.
In a chat with some media channels on Sunday, Silva enjoined the public to disregard the report as a figment of imagination by mischief makers spreading the falsehood.
Eighty-years-old Olu Jacobs has perennially been in the news for dead, but the fake news has always been dispelled by the family, friends and well wishers.
While also debunking the fresh rumour that resurfaced on Sunday, a Nigerian columnist, Betty Irabor, took to social media and reassured Jacob’s fans that the Nollywood star is fine and alive.
