An unidentified number of kidnappers have invaded Paint community in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, Abuja and kidnapped 13 persons.
D’Gallery gathered that the incident happened on Sunday night in an operation that lasted for over one hour.
They operated unchallenged as there was no presence of any security agents in the community during the invasion.
D’Gallery also gathered that the abductors had already contacted the community and demanded N900 million ransom as the condition for freeing the victims.
The Madakin Piko of the community, Chief John Jatau, confirmed that 10 residents were kidnapped from his domain, including four nomadic Fulani herdsmen.
He disclosed that one escaped from the kidnappers’ custody out of the four Fulani people.
The Madakin Piko also confirmed that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N900 million Naira.
He said that the kidnapped victims included Nuhu Anyiwoyi, Emmanuel Nuhu, Danjuma Ali, Parisa Numa and Ezekiel Jatau.
Others are Shekwosa Ezekiel, Roseline Samuel, Salome Jacob, Abyelo Ezra and Ezra Male.
The kidnapping incident occurred last night Sunday at about 11 pm. The kidnappers raided the village for about one hour without any response or reaction from the community or outsiders,” the Madakin said.
He added: “The major challenge the community faced last night in terms of communication to others was as a result of the lack of telecommunication network in the village. So, they picked people from house to house in the community.”
