In a video meant to pass a message across to southwestern traditional rulers by Sunday Adeyemo Igboho, the Yoruba Nation secessionist, Sunday Adeyemo Igboho was seen addressing appointment of chieftaincy title to none southwestern, precisely Fulanis from the northern part of Nigeria as inappropriate.
He respectfully counselled that such should not be happening in Southwest especially knowing those who are responsible for terrorist attacks in the region so far.
Sunday Igboho went further by respectfully mentioning the Olubadan of Ibadan who recently did what the activist was condemning in his address.
The Olubadan of Ibadan has in response excoriated Sunday Igboho’s position for being critical of the conferment of chieftaincy titles on Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and his wife, Prof. Hafsat Ganduje, claiming to be too refined for such.
According to the statement from the Monarch, “It must be placed on record that the present Olubadan is too refined to be seeking for who to honour with Chieftaincy title for whatever purpose. Here is a man (Governor Ganduje) said to have been compassionate to the Yoruba people in his domain. Presently, Dr. Ganduje is undertaking an auditorium project at the Premier University, the University of Ibadan where he bagged his doctorate degree.”
