Chairman, Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.Yusuf Buba Yakub,has described the award of a new Doctorate Degree to him as an encouragement to do more for humanity.
The lawmaker,who could not undertake the award trip to Turkey due to the ongoing budget defence in the National Assembly at the time, made the observation, Tuesday,in Abuja as he was being decorated with the academic regalia for the award by a team led by the African Representative of Geofidel Executive Education,London,UK,Mr. Ugo Onyeka, said the journey of quality performance in public service had just started and expressed gratitude to Geofidel Institute of Management and Leadership ,United Kingdom,and the Harvard Business School,USA,for considering him worthy of the award.
Speaking earlier,the African Representative of the facilitating institution of the award ,Mr. Onyeka said Rt. Hon. Buba had been adjudged eminently qualified for the award because of his performance in public service,which has highly impacted positively on both the Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency and Nigeria at large.
Preparatory events and intensive crash academic exercises on Global Transformational Leadership and Managing the Economic Fallouts of a Post- pandemic Era by African Leaders and Senior Management Executives, as parts of events leading to the award,were held in Istanbul, Turkey, between the 26th and 30th October this year.
Among the recipients of the award were politicians,accomplished academics,technocrats and others from Nigeria and Africa,among whom were Prof. Sanusi Mamman, Vice Chancellor of Umaru Yar’adua University, Katsina,Katsina State; Prof. Joshua Okpanachi,Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences,Nigeria Defence Academy,NDA,Kaduna;Dr. Dipeolu Mosunmola,Chief Judge of Ogun State and Chairman,State Judicial Service Commission;as well as Hon. Justice,Dr.,Musa Danladi Abubakar,Chief Judge of Katsina State.
